I have stopped the gas masks for now. And I'm working on smaller works. Lately, I've been toying with larger illustrations. It puzzles me that people think papercutting is time-consuming. Drawing is just as time-consuming, cross-hatching your way across a large sheet of paper.

I'm putting together a series of footnotes for this other illustration, trying to authenticate the voice(s), trying to include all of the authors and admitting to my own thievery. It's an interesting exercise. I started with an artist statement and am maintaining a pretty informal voice, keeping it personal. To go formal is to be authoritative and official when this is in no way an exercise that can end. I can only attempt to include as much as I can, even then it's pretty exhaustive. I think the footnotes alone can cover a gallery.
