Working primarily in mixed media, Christine Kim creates intricate paper cuttings and drawings, carving away the boundaries between drawing, sculpture, collage, and installation. She lives and works in Toronto.

A little restless these days. The work is coming along. It's starting to make sense. It's useful to multi-task and oscillate between little things: cleaning my space, hanging objects, rearranging, collaging, drawing, reading and writing. It keeps the mind busy and not obsessively doing one activity. The break from one task from the other leaves room for reflection and evaluation.
Carrying a piece of matte board from one room to another, Mike thought it was a pile of small paper remains. We talked today about installation possibilities: video, sound and projections. We were also talking about silence and absence. It's not so much the scribble, but the absence of the cut pieces. I save them, but I'm not sure what their purpose is right now.
