Working primarily in mixed media, Christine Kim creates intricate paper cuttings and drawings, carving away the boundaries between drawing, sculpture, collage, and installation. She lives and works in Toronto.

revisiting the portfolio:
I was never a sentimental person. Bob asked us to reach back into our past to find our earliest memories of art making. I have little to show. Nothing has survived really. I wish I could blame it on a series of geographical moves, or acts of god, but really, the art must not have survived my mother's frequent purging of memorabilia. Perhaps that is why I am unsentimental to this day. I'm quite comfortable with making art, and then dismantling it and destroying it. It is nice, however, to see remnants.
There are traces of my art from last summer. There were paper kelp pieces hanging in my space still. There is the paper globe in Caren's office. There is lastly the magazine cut out of two elderly bird watchers I placed on Bob's office door that is still there.
There are always remnants.
